Academic excellence
We set great store by the quality of our teaching at all our schools. We attract the highest calibre of teaching staff.
Our academic results are exceptional:
- Across our independent schools, an average of 92% of our pupils gained five or more GCSEs (including English and Maths) at A*-C grades in 2009. This compares with a national average of 59.5% for independent schools.
- On average, over 75% of our pupils gained A and B grades at A level in 2009.
Our boarders typically achieve even better results. For example, our A level boarding students gain a higher percentage of A and B grades and thus a higher percentage attend top universities. We strongly believe this is due to the benefit of structured prep sessions each evening during the school week, the greater time boarders spend at school and, of course, because their teachers are on hand for guidance and advice.
