Oli Tomlinson appointed permanent Principal of Paddington Academy

ULT has appointed Mrs Oli Tomlinson as Paddington Academy’s permanent Principal.  Mrs Tomlinson joined the academy as Vice Principal when it opened in September 2006.  She was appointed Acting Principal in January of this year.

Sir Ewan Harper, Chief Executive of ULT, which sponsors the academy, said: “Under Mrs Tomlinson’s leadership, the academy has had a very successful term and a half.  She has proven herself to be a talented leader held in high esteem by students and staff alike.  She has led the academy through a successful Ofsted inspection and ensured that progress at the academy has continued across the board.

“ULT and Paddington Academy share an ethos of bring out 'the best in everyone' and, under Mrs Tomlinson’s leadership, the academy will continue to drive this mission forward.”

Commenting on her appointment, Mrs Tomlinson said: "There is a boundless amount of energy and drive amongst our students and staff for our academy to become a fantastic school. I look forward to seeing what more we can achieve together. Paddington Academy has a very bright future ahead of it and I am delighted to be a part of it."

Paddington Academy opened in 2006 and transferred into its new building a year later.  It was the country’s most improved academy in 2008.  In February 2009 the academy received praise from Ofsted which said that there were clear signs of “rapid” improvement.
