Hull Collegiate School choir to perform before the Duchess of Kent at charity concert

23 April 2010

Hull Collegiate School’s choir will be joining other musicians in Hull to perform before the Duchess of Kent at a special concert on 22 May to raise funds for her charity Future Talent.

The concert will be held at Holy Trinity Church. The second half of the concert will feature Hull Collegiate School’s choir and the City of Hull Youth Choir joining together to perform the Fauré Requiem accompanied by an orchestra consisting of Music Service staff and other local professional musicians.

The Duchess of Kent is no stranger to Hull as she used to teach music at a primary school in Hull. Her passion for music led her to set up the Future Talent charity which encourages and supports talented musical youngsters. Founded in 2004, the primary aim of Future Talent is to find, fund and nurture musically gifted individuals aged between 5 and 18 who do not have the means or the opportunity to advance their musicianship. From provision of an instrument to the funding of private tuition or a special course, the charity is committed to providing the natural stepping stones to help talented young musicians aim high.
