Jim Keefe appointed Head of Arnold School
3 December 2010
Following an extensive national recruitment exercise, the United Church Schools Trust (UCST) has announced that Jim Keefe has been appointed Headmaster of Arnold School.
Mr Keefe, who has been Acting Head at the school since September, read Economics at Newcastle University and has taught and held leadership roles in a number of top schools across the country.
Announcing his appointment, Ms Charlotte Rendle-Short, Deputy Chief Executive of UCST, said: “We are delighted by this appointment. Mr Keefe takes on the Headship at an exciting time for Arnold School. We have a renewed focus on the academic achievements of pupils and an exceptional extra curricular programme, for which the school already enjoys an enviable national reputation. We are also currently finalising details for additional investment in the school’s grounds and facilities which will be announced in the New Year.”
Mr Keefe said: “Arnold School is quickly becoming the number one choice for parents on the Fylde. As Head I will be looking to build our regional and national reputation. We are a strong, happy school and, with the arrival of a new Head of the Junior School in January, ideally placed for the future. It is a real pleasure to be appointed Headmaster of a school I know well and love.”
