The Best in Everyone Conference 2011
At the start of every new academic year United Church Schools Trust and United Learning Trust invite all new teachers and senior staff to attend a group induction conference.
This year the conference took place at William Hulme Grammar School (a ULT academy) in Manchester, on 23rd and 24th August 2011. 130 new teachers and senior staff, from across our schools and academies attended this exciting residential event.
The programme for the two days was a mix of inspiring keynote speeches and a range of practical workshops, with delegates grouped in different ways. The aim was for new staff to feel more engaged with the group, its values and ethos and fired up by the challenge of teaching in our schools and academies.
Delegates had the opportunity to make new contacts with other staff, right across the group, that they can draw on once in their new role.
They were welcomed to the conference by Lord Carey and Edward Gould, Chairmen of UCST and ULT respectively. The keynote address was given by Charlotte Rendle-Short and Kathy August, Acting CEOs of UCST and ULT. The remainder of the programme consisted of a series of engaging workshops.
We welcome these 130 teachers and senior staff into the group and look forward to seeing them flourish in their new careers with ULT and UCST.
