New Principal Appointed for Manchester Academy
Former DfE National Ambassador for Science & Tomorrow's World Reporter Appointed Principal of Flagship Academy

The United Learning Trust (ULT) has announced the appointment of Mr David Bromfield as Principal of its flagship Manchester Academy.
Mr Bromfield, who is currently Deputy Head of Archbishop Tenison’s School in London,
will take up his post after half term.
With a degree in Biochemical Genetics and a Masters in Education from Kings College London, Mr Bromfield is a highly experienced educationalist. But, in addition, he has worked as an education correspondent for the BBC, served as the DfE’s National Ambassador for Science and been a reporter on “Tomorrow’s World”.
Announcing his appointment, Edward Gould, Chairman of ULT said:
“We are very pleased to announce David as the new Principal of Manchester Academy. He is somebody whom we are delighted to have attracted to ULT and we are certain that he will be a popular and skilled Principal.
“The academy celebrated a large jump in its GCSE performance this summer which is credit to all the staff and students there. I know that they will make David very welcome.”
Mr Bromfield said:
“Manchester Academy is known nationally as a flagship school that has achieved many amazing things since it opened. I am hugely looking forward to beginning my time as its Principal and working with a group of fantastic staff and students whose commitment, enthusiasm and love of learning is genuinely referred to across the country.
“Opportunities to be Principal somewhere like Manchester Academy are few and far between and it is one I was delighted to accept. I cannot wait to get started.”
